CDC Update - COVID-19 Delta Variant

The Oklahoma State Department of Health follows CDC guidance on the virus.  Here are the latest recommendations:

  1.  Getting vaccinated prevents severe illness, hospitalization, and death and also helps reduce the spread of the virus in communities.
  2. Data shows Delta is different than past versions of the virus and is much more contagious.  Virtually all hospitalizations and deaths continue to be among the unvaccinated.
  3. CDC recommends that everyone (including fully vaccinated individuals) wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas with high transmission.
