spring break STEAM

The library has lots of great activities planned for spring break.

The week kicks off with the Spring Break Reading Bingo. Pick up a bingo card at the desk, do five challenges in a row, and win a prize!  The bingo will run through March 29th.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.  The library’s Stupendous Spring Break STEAM Series will introduce participants to a variety of cool activities that are not only fun, you may learn a little something in the process.

Tuesday at 11:00 AM, the librarians invite everyone in to learn the Science of SlimeAll of the ingredients will be available for everyone to make at least 2 types of slime.  There will be recipes available for participants to take home and practice making their own slime.

Wednesday at 11:00 AM, we will experiment with color and light in our Rainbow Riot!  There will be lots of activities with paint, light, water, and other simple ingredients that produce amazing results.

Thursday at 11:00 AM, there will be lots of flight activities in Project Launch!  We will take a trip outside, if weather permits, or downstairs if it doesn’t, to explore the tools and energy behind the blast-off.  Get ready for catapults, rockets, airplanes, and other fun!

Friday at 11:00 AM, get ready for Play Dough Palooza!  Let’s take a look at chemistry when we mix household ingredients to make some awesome play dough!

Saturday, we will kick off Captain Underpants and his Reading Gives You Superpowers week.  There will be all sorts of super hero activities for kids to do that day!
